Alexandra Hyler

Dr. Alex Hyler is currently the Vice President and Chief Scientific Officer for CytoRecovery, a dynamic startup working to commercialize new cell separation and recovery technologies. Alex has been with the company since its founding in 2018 and currently manages the Company’s operations including product development, R&D, manufacturing, and sales. She earned her PhD in biomedical engineering from the Virginia Tech-Wake Forest School of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences in 2018. During her time at VT, Alex earned a Fulbright to conduct some of her PhD research in Denmark, and she was named the Outstanding Graduate Student of the Year for her work in scholarship and community outreach. Alex is originally from Lawrence, Kansas where she earned her bachelors with honors in chemical engineering from the University of Kansas in 2013. When she’s not working, Alex enjoys traveling, watching sports, and spoiling her two dogs.
