Tech on Tap: Environmental Intelligence Takeover
Join your favorite tech community at RBTC’s next Tech on Tap. Starting this year, RBTC is giving this series a twist by bringing a barstool speaker element to the beloved series that connects tech researchers, enthusiasts and innovators of all ages and stages at a post-workday social. The series will start and end with networking and each event will stage a speaker to share a project, business or passion with just a mic on a barstool. This unscripted series has two rules: The speaker should stay under 15 minutes and must have a tech-focused talk.
Ben Strong PhD, Science and Machine Learning Lead for Earth Genome, will hit this month’s stage and share how he’s building novel technologies that combines satellite data, machine learning and human-centered design to guide and measure actionable environmental intelligence.
Earth Genome's AI-powered tech makes monitoring the planet with petabytes of data as simple as clicking on a map. Ben had applied AI to satellite imagery on projects ranging from exposing illegal gold mining in the Brazilian Amazon, to predicting the risk of large wildfires in California, to tracking the explosion of forest clearing in the Solomon Islands, and more.
Street parking available as well as three small lots behind the event space. Look for event signage in parking lots.
