Join us for our RBTC Lunch & Learn with John Cornthwait, "Everyday Accessibility: Simple Steps for More Inclusive Tech."
Accessibility isn’t just a checkbox—it’s a mindset. Whether you’re a developer, designer, content creator, or business leader, you have a role in making technology more inclusive. In this session, we’ll explore why accessibility matters, common pitfalls to avoid, and simple steps you can take today to create more inclusive digital experiences. You’ll leave with practical tips, free tools, and insights into how accessibility benefits everyone.
Lunch will be provided starting at 11:30 AM, with our speaker kicking off at noon. We’ll wrap up by 1:00 PM, leaving you energized and ready to take on the rest of your day. Come hungry—for knowledge, connection, and a great meal.
Doors open at 11:30 AM for networking and lunch with programming beginning at 12:00 PM. Program ends at 1:00 PM.
Speaker Spotlight
John Cornthwait is President and COO at Firefli, where he helps brands build inclusive, user-centered digital experiences at the intersection of strategy, design, and technology. With 20+ years in web and product development, he brings deep expertise in UX, design strategy, and accessibility.
He holds a Master’s in Information Architecture and UX from Kent State and is a Certified Professional in Web Accessibility (CPWA).
Outside of work, John serves on the Roanoke Arts Commission and as Vice Chair of Restoration Housing, championing arts, historic preservation, and community development. He also teaches interaction and web design at Virginia Tech.
